Program Encourages Teens To Say No To Beer… by LocalNews-GrabNetworks
Teens from Marshall High School in Portland, Oregon hosted a town hall meeting to let the community know about a unique after-school program that is empowering teenagers to say no to peer pressure.
The students participate in an afterschool club called SMASH (Students Making Ads for Social Health), which is aiming to change the negative perception of all teen using substances. Discover some of their findings in the presentation from the town hall meeting.

A group of Dallas students had an appetite for learning. In this After The Bell report, the unique way they are putting their math and English skills to good use.
When it came to learning about food, kids are eating it up and they are using math and English, without even realizing it.
“They get a chance to do hands-on math with measurements, fractions, adding, subtracting,” said said Voscia Walker, director of Kids Camp. ”Sometimes we have to double the recipes, then of course, have to read the recipe, so that reinforces English.”
